Jetcost app
Flight comparison in a native mobile experience

Project overview
Goal
Deliver a faster, more complete experience that keeps users coming back beyond a single search.
Product
A flight metasearch comparing airline and OTA fares in a native iOS and Android app. The experience has to hold high search volumes and a dense catalogue of information, with the same clarity on every screen.
Audience
Multi-channel users: people who return out of habit after booking through the app, people who convert from web via web-to-app, people who come back from push notifications, people discovering the app for the first time. Returning users want to repeat the experience without re-entering data, so saved preferences and search history are central. New users need guiding through discovery.

Problems and constraints
- The app covers 38+ countries with local translations and currencies: visual layout becomes essential, with the right hierarchy and a study of component footprints, given how much information there is to show.
- Sustain a high number of active users and first opens over time.
- Balance and place advertising well, as a supplementary source alongside click-outs to the partner.

Solutions and interventions
- Deals: a new feature that flags good prices based on the departure airport the user selects.
- Redesigned the itinerary cards and the detail page.
- Personalised push notifications.
- Price-change alerts, both up and down.
- A nearby-dates option at a lower price.
- Updated the information shown, such as baggage and virtual interlining.
